How To Shave Your Head

We get asked about head shaving and whether the Goodfella is suitable, here is feedback from our customers

  1. I received the Goodfella and have used it half a dozen times on my face, fantastic shave could not believe how sharp the razor was and the result being a really smooth shave. It took a little while to get used to it at the start but once I realised it wasn’t going to cut my face I thought I might give my head a go. And it can be done very smooth (Wife even commented how much smoother the shave was in comparison to my old Gillette razor.!!!).

The only problem I have found so far in shaving my head is that the handle needs to be a bit longer, I would say about 100mm overall for the handle, and for the ridges on the handle to be extended by another 20mm and it would be perfect for me.

As you are basically shaving blind ie using the razor behind your head and cannot see where the razor is going therefore it is merely a feel thing. Making the handle longer and extending the ridges on it means you could have a better grip on the razor, giving better control. The method I use when shaving my head is to start at the back from the nape and in even strokes go upwards to about the crown of my head, then do each of the sides using same method eg the back to the front. Then finish off by changing the stroke from front to back eg like brushing your hair ( if I had some, ha ha!!!). I am not sure if this is what others do but this is the most comfortable way I have found in shaving my head over the past 8 years.
